WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is a method for activating the healing powers of the body. It has been known to man for many thousands of years. We know that the early Egyptians, Chinese, Japanese, Indians and Russians worked the feet to promote good health. Reflexology is a therapy applied to the feet. There is a reflex point in the feet relating to each and every organ, gland and part of the body. By using gentle but firm pressure to the feet your Reflexologist aims to promote relaxation and balance and harmony of the whole body. Reflexology helps to cleanse the body of toxins. Following illness, stress, injury or disease the body is in ‘imbalance’ and Reflexology can be used to restore the body’s natural equilibrium.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is holistic, therefore treats the whole person. It can bring relief to many different conditions and is suitable for all ages, from babies to great-grandparents. It has now been proved to be a very safe and natural way of helping the body to heal itself. Most people can benefit from this therapy, which relaxes and balances the body. It can be used to treat most of the everyday problems which a patient would consult his or her doctor about with tremendous results. Reflexology does not claim to cure or diagnose illness, however, the results can be quite amazing.
THE TREATMENT SESSION
Your Reflexologist will do a consultation with you before treatment begins. The treatment will last for approximately one hour. It involves the application of gentle pressure to the feet by using only the hands. The treatment should not be painful, although there may be some sensitivity at times. This sensitivity or discomfort is an indication of congestion or imbalance within the relating part of the body and will be gone as soon as the Practitioner moves to another area. Your feet will be treated to a massage after the treatment. The treatment should be a course of treatments. The number of treatments will depend upon the patients requirements.
YOUR REFLEXOLOGIST
is a fully qualified registered and fully insured Practitioner, being a member of the Association of Reflexologists and the Midland Reflexology Academy. The Association of Reflexologists is Government recognised. Treatments are carried out at the comfort of your own home or workplace.
